I've lived at Shadow Oaks for about 2 years now and love it! Conveniently located near a variety of businesses, it's very peaceful with well maintained grounds and a beautiful pool. The apartments are older but they have a lot of charm. Maintenance is always on top of things and the front office staff is very helpful. Shadow Oaks is the perfect little oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Austin :)

Recently moved into Shadow Oaks complex and have no major complaints what so ever. The only think I wish the complex offered was a second pool area to accommodate the residents. More BBQ pits would be nice as well, especially in the common areas and through out the property. Management is very professional and proficient. Maria was extremely helpful and welcoming. The size of the 1/1 is perfect for just me although it is on the smaller side. The cost for the units get an A. The location is very convenient to shopping, dining and public transportation. The grounds are beautifully kept and landscaped. Very large dog park located in the rear of the property. Not the most updated units but definitely not outdated. Very comfortable living. Looking forward to many years here at Shadow Oaks.
The services is toooo bad, my ceiling had mold, the bad tub was peeled off, the counter top in the bathroom was stickying because something wrong with the top coat, it's never dried in 2 years. I told them to fix it, but over 1 year, they came and check and go. They told me, whenever I go out of town, they will fit it. But I didn't have any needs to go out of town at all. So it's never be fix. Until the contract was end, it's not to be fix. So I can't live there anymore, because the mold was too much. So finally I had to move. I didn't gave them the notice paper, because I was waiting for them to fix it to the last minutes. so they charge me 1,44xx and now they put me in collection. It's horrible apartment I ever know. Don't live here, it's too dirty, bad customer service and maintenance.
This is a cute well kept apartment complex. The office staff and maintenance team are on top of there game. They are very good at taking care of their tenants. They usually run good specials on new applicants. I like this complex because it’s tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of Austin.
The place is full of mold, bugs, and is falling apart. Don't let the manager or the staff lie to you. Windows are drafty and are old, single pain and the separations in between are wearing out. We were told that they had a pest control service that comes around every month, but we haven't seen a notice in the first month we moved in. There are wasp nests all over on the porches (front and back) and all over. Ants are crawling in our bathrooms. Birds are nesting in the dryer vents. And the mosquitoes on the grounds are just waiting to bite you from drainpipes that go up, not down, so that standing water is in them at all times. Our hot water heater connectors are putting black flecks of rubber in the water. Our windows, especially in the bedroom had mold and the new manager told me we had to clean it up even though it was also on the pain around the window and it is clear that the windows have water condensation on them, so the problem won't go away. And, there is mold in our air vent in the guest bath. The new manager said that she might have maintenance paint over the mold, but she won't have them clean out the vent up in the ceiling. My lungs are sick from having to breath the mold and I'm calling the authorities and the Austin Tenants Council. Lastly, all our fire extinguishers are under a manufacturer's recall and have been red-tagged since 2017-12-13. They took ours for 5 weeks, then gave us another one, but it is one of the ones recalled. DON'T RENT HERE.
