I have never even heard of this place until a few days ago and it's only half an hour's drive away so we gave it a go. Very quiet due to Covid still, but it is a beautiful place to visit with the museum and gardens. We enjoyed eating a picnic and exploring the grounds of the old Priory before going over to the walled gardens which was just lovely to explore. A great afternoon out. Our dog Jasper loved it as well as the staff fussed him a lot.

Superb day out at Norton Priory Museum and Gardens today, including Walled Garden, pear orchard and woodland walks. Excellent involving/interesting exhibits in relatively new Museum building, atmospheric glade/stream garden, wildlife, cafe and outside seating area, plus picnic area. Free parking. The outdoor xylophone and tubular bells installation in the garden, plus the replica full size medieval bell (all of which I played/rang) made the experience auditory as well as visual, tactile and cerebral. Well done to friendly staff in these unusual times.

Had a great time here in late August 2020. Covid precautions were top notch and comforting (door handles etc were cleaned while we were there). Lovely welcome from the staff and guides who were very knowledgeable. The grounds are great for a woodland walk and you can see the Bridgewater canal at one point. The museum part is very interesting and not too overwhelming, i.e. short sharp facts. And the walled garden is so peaceful I want it for myself. We took a picnic and ate outside but there is a cafe that looked great. Toilets were spotless. Plenty of parking.

A hidden gem. Fantastic walled garden, museum, cafe, woodlands. Staff are lovely, very friendly and helpful. Road noise not so great but worth it, something for all ages. Highly recommended.

Great afternoon spent here. The staff were all lovely especially the fab museum guide who made the history of the place come alive. A voluntary member who is passionate about the place. There is a great little woodland walk with children's play area. Plenty benches dotted around. The walled garden is so beautiful (I must go back in summer to see it all in full bloom!) There is a little cafe inside the walled garden but cash only so take money. Bought honey and a bottle of apple juice both of which are produced on site and various other souvenirs are available in the gift shop. We will return later in the year as it was well worth the very reasonable entrance fee and had something for everyone. My teenager even enjoyed herself and teens are very hard to please...aren't they!? .
