Wonderful example of a country estate that the National Trust have worked to restore. Great for all ages. The trail around the gardens has two playgrounds that will keep older children entertained, though the little ones will need help. Carriage museum and kitchen gardens are also wonderful.
Great place for a day out, house wasn't open, but the carriage museum was. Lots of interesting carriages through the ages. Plenty of well signposted routes around the estate of varying lengths. Dogs allowed in the grounds. Tea room open, lots of picnic benches too. Worth a visit.
We had a lovely walk around on a damp day. The carriage museum was fascinating and definitely out of the ordinary. Well prepared staff, friendly gardeners and all operated seamlessly within C-19 rules. We topped it off with tea and pasties in the cafe. Super.
Timed entry works well here. Victorian garden beautiful due to hard work of the few staff currently available. Plenty of space for walking and playing. Very limited catering facilities ATM. A very safe place to visit.
