This castle is remarkably beautiful . Due to Covid-19 restrictions, not many people are visiting it so you kind of get the whole castle to yourself. Its a 1000 year old building and when you explore the hidden areas with a guiding context, its fascinating . Walking \u200d️ around the castle you can see and hear the bells from the church ️ The central cylindrical tower is a common structure of Welsh and English castles.
Who would’ve thought that walking round some 1,000 year old ruins would be so interesting, well it came as a very big surprise to me that visiting Dudley Castle and exploring all of the areas it offers actually was very interesting and particularly for the children running around the vast spaces and discovering, querying, questioning all of the various elements of the castle, and that was not just the children, the adults were as inquisitive also. During our visit there were no performances or shows taking place I can imagine this would be spectacular in the middle of the summer with any performances. Because it has such a vast spaces it’s an ideal place to have a picnic with large lush green lawns across almost all part of the walking area. Very much a place I would like to visit again.

Fantastic historical representation of years gone-by in a loverly woodland setting. Well maintained and managed by the local team, worth a visit. Great day for the children although some where witness climbing on the monument rather then respecting it, lack of parental guidance. Very good control measures in place where internal access was unavoidable, hand wash and social distancing being observed and well managed. I would loved to seen the castle in its heyday. We will return, thank you Ludlow.
