Riserva naturale dello zingaro was the first natural reserve set up in Sicily in May 1981, located almost completely in the municipal territory of San Vito Lo Capo. It stretches along some seven kilometers of unspoilt coastline of the Gulf of Castellammare and its mountain chain, the setting of steep cliffs and little bays. The Zingaro Reserve has a large variety and abundance of rare and endemic plants, as well as a rich fauna. The highly varied ecological niches give a great diversity which is not easily found in others parts of the island. In the Zingaro Reserve at least 39 species of birds nest and mate, mainly birds of prey, including the peregrine falcon, the common kestrel and the common buzzard. The area has also a rich archaeological past; for example the spectacular Grotta dell'Uzzo was one of the first prehistoric settlements in Sicily. The reserve has a complex network of paths, shelters, water taps, picnic areas, museums, carpark, and other amenities; there are no roads and it can only be visited on foot. The Zingaro Reserve incorporates not only the land and beaches, but also the adjacent sea. The beautiful beaches, pebbled and lapped by the clear blue sea, can be reached along various rather steep paths.

The beach is amazing, clear water even with all those boats and people. Be aware to wear closed shoes and mask due to the coronavirus (both mandatory). We arrived around 11Am and we parked far away from the entrance, be ready to walk. The ticket costs 5 euro for adults. There is only one food truck at the entrance that sells food and drink. Bring something to improvise a tent (towels, pareo) because umbrella are not allowed and the sun can be very strong. If you like snorkeling, it worth bringing your kit.

Amazing experience! The place is very beautiful, I started the path from Scopello to San Vito Lo Capo. Recommend to take very good shoes, hat, glasses, sunscreen, some lunch and lot of water (minimum 2 litres) during the path there is just 2 places where you can fill the bottle (One at the beginning and other almost to the end). The price to enter to Riserva is 5 euros.

Depending on what do you expect from this place you might be really pleased, or disappointed. Small bays and beaches (Calas) are very beautiful, but there are a lot of tourists - somewhere it's even difficult to pass through, without mentioning to lay and enjoy the view and solemnity. Very important thing - don't forget to take a looot of water with you - there will be no places to buy it, and the hot is hell-like (in the end of August). The views are amazing there even without the beaches - and if you are trained enough physically - you can do amazing hiking tour (but again - don't forget to take water with you!). There are couple of grottoes there worth to visit.

A must visit place when it comes to Sicily especially Palermo. The national park is huge with multiple beaches and lookouts. I would suggest driving there as the road is not bad. Make sure your you have all your water, refreshments and snacks sorted out before going there. Lots of beautiful landscapes and crystal clear water beaches.cant recommend enough.
