I've been going to Wm Edge Institute almost since they opened and always had a great experience. I can't say that about my visit on 9/26. I had what appeared to be 2 students working on my hair with NO supervision. Even with a picture and a detailed explanation of what I wanted done (mostly a trim and shape-up of my month-old pixie cut) they didn't get it. My head wasn't shaved in the back but it might as well have been! I bet the hair back there isn't 1/2 inch long. I am so disappointed and upset! It's so short that I won't need another haircut for many months. I cried all the way home. I put a hat on when I got home and I still have it on...2 days later...I'm embarrassed to be seen. At 68, I look like a skin head...not a good look at ALL! The worst part is that no one asked me if I was happy with my haircut (I clearly was not) and no supervisor came over to inspect the work of my students before I was checked out and sent on my way. I understand that students usually do the work and I'm fine with that. But PLEASE let there be someone with an actual cosmetology license oversee the work. If you don't see a supervisor on the floor checking in with the students, hold off getting your hair cut for another day. This is a great place, usually, and I don't understand what happened Saturday. This isn't typical of them. I hope it was just a temporary and unfortunate lapse.

Absolutely am in LOVE with my cut and gorgeous color done by Julia @ William Edge Institute. It's been a long time since I have left a salon feeling gorgeous. Thank you, Mr. Edge and Julia for making a girl feel top notch beautiful!
Sharing my (JGS) experience this morning at William Edge Institute New Braunfels..... The young lady was very professional and eager. The owner, William came over to instruct. I asked what color they were applying. He got bent out of shape. I said well I need to know what color your applying. He said isn’t that what you wanted since I mentioned my regular stylist uses a certain color level. There was no consultation on what color I wanted on my hair. In his mind, he decided what I (the client) was getting. At that point, I didn’t even see the color examples. He then says, do have a problem? I was so blind sided by his condescending behavior. Anyone who intimidates a client, who merely asks a question is teaching these student on how NOT to gain clients, how NOT to make money. In the closing, I got out of the chair and tipped the young lady and told her I would go somewhere else.
I have had my hair and my kids hair done several times here over the years. We have had nothing but great experience. I even brought my mother here for a perm. The students are well trained and instructors are very helpful. Highly Recommend.
I graduated from William Edge Institute in November and had an amazing experience! The instructors and staff go above and beyond to have cosmetologists and manicurists with amazing experience graduate, not JUST pass their state boards and then struggle in the real world. I can’t say enough good things about my time with this school. I highly recommend it to any person wanting to enter the industry.
I took my mother to get a perm here and she loved it! The students are always supervised and I knew she was in good hands. She wanted me to tell them that it was an awesome experience and it's the softest perm she's ever had (she is prone to damage) and it still looks great 4 1/2 weeks later. She highly recommends them. The WEI team is training their students right!
