Very friendly and helpful. I adopted a cat yesterday (Sunday 3/7/2021) because it was Sunday and she hadn't been in the shelter very long, I had to go back today after the Vet had been in and checked her over and given her a rabies shot. The office was extremely busy, but the 2 office personnel and 2 workers coming in and out, all acknowledged me and reassured me they would get to me as soon as possible. Tally hadn't gotten her shot yet, but the worker, as soon as she found out why I was there, got the vaccine and took it straight to the Vet, to make sure I didn't have to wait long. They worked very had to get to each \customer\ as quickly as possible. Very polite, very efficient.

I know there was an article printed about this place just a few days ago and the lady they interviewed made it sound like they had fixed their issues but i can promise from my experience literally 2 days before the article was printed that is NOT the case. I went in to look at cats for adoption. The staff was less than accommodating. They have a free roam cat trailer for cats up for adoption. Many of them being there for years. I specifically asked about their older cats and which ones had been there the longest and was told to just \look around and see what struck my fancy.\ No guidance whatsoever. In each little free roam room in the trailer they have kennel cards for the cats in the rooms, which I had to find for myself. The kennel cards are not informative most of the pictures on them are outdated and/or bad quality. (example: kitten picture but cat is now full grown) The rooms were in terrible condition, poop and old hairballs on the floors, litter boxes with fairly fresh litter but the boxes themselves look like they've never been cleaned with dried nasty poop stuck to the sides. One big cat we saw my kids were excited about and we were told he was up for adoption but immediately shut down because he is \bipolar and doesn't like kids.\ (while my kids were loving on him ??) Its like they don't want these cats to even have a chance at finding a forever home. We left very disappointed and very sad for those poor animals. As a shelter the conditions are deplorable but i beg anyone wanting to adopt to try and save these animals from this awful place!!!

My husband and I just adopted Coconut from Patty, new name is Buddy and he's home and loving the big yard and it's such a good boy already. We are so happy to add him to our family he's laying by my feet sound asleep. Thank you Patty and Panhandle animal welfare. He will grow and be loved always

Very informative and helpful. We adopted our cairn from PAWS in 2009 and just recently turned in an injured cat that was unfortunately not micro-chipped!
