I truly hate to leave a negative review, but I have no choice. Please note, this review is based on my experience with Coleen, NOT the other staff at the shelter. We adopted our new family member, an 8 week old cat named Smokey on 9/03/2020. He has been an awesome addition to our family. We came to this shelter based on word of mouth reviews. Upon choosing Smokey, a gentleman, who I might add was very pleasant, did all of our paperwork and presented us with a voucher to have Smokey neutered and receive his rabies vaccine at no additional cost from Animal Alliance in La Marque. I have reached out to Coleen a total of 4 times, beginning late October and most recently on 1/20/20, asking her to call Animal Alliance to arrange the neuter. Animal Alliance informed me that Bayou Animal Services has blocks of appointments solidified with them that were sooner than what I would be able to get Smokey booked on. Coleen HAS NOT FOLLOWED THROUGH after numerous attempts on my part. Each time I call I am told she will take care of it and yet 3 months later here I sit. VERY unprofessional to not hear anything from her at all. I recommend that these vouchers not be given out if its going to be such a hassle to redeem them. Money is not an issue at all, but why should I pay for a service that Bayou offered to me as a part of his adoption contract!

Adopted my fur baby from here, they took such good care of him beforehand. Making sure all of his shots, chips, neutering, etc. we’re done beforehand. They’re very strict about their adoption process which I love. Clean facility and the people who work there truly care about animals. Miss Cheyenne was the one who helped me through the process - she’s so kind! Highly recommend this place :)

The ladies who waited on me were somewhat efficient. The first one I spoke to, I'm not sure she looked up information to let me know about the pup I asked about, nor the two others the pup came in with. The dogs were quite new, so I disregarded that. I did insist on seeing the other two, after her telling me they wouldn't be suitable. And I found the sweetest female Chihuahua mix. I understand the dogs were new and they hadn't gotten everything in place, so I have no beef with them. I brought sweet female home as a \tryout\, and am very happy with her. On calling later for further information I got much more info, and was very happy with my experience. I am home now with my new puppy, Bailey️
