This is a great place to take the kids for a day out. Adults and older kids are 100 each little ones are free. They regularly do little shows with the electric trains and there are big retired trains outside that the kids can climb on. This is a great place for the price.
(Mainly) outdoor train museum of sorts. It is aimed at children. There are a few steam locomotives you can explore as well as lots of coin operated rides. There is a shinkansen engine too, but when we visited (February 2018) it was closed for a repaint. The mini train that goes around a track is good fun. There are a couple of displays inside including a model town that has runs on the half hour. A staff member narrates the train show. At the end a Thomas train and Anpanman train also run around the track. It is only 100 yen into the park, but each ride costs a 100 or 200 yen to operate. There is free parking, but it is not the space right in front of the museum, although cars park there it is actually a no parking area. The parking is just past the park at the foot of the cliff.
Very small - home to 10 locomotives - but fabulous value for 100. Early example of a Shinkansen locomotive - fascinating contrast to later examples. Good website, and was handed a guide sheet in English. Absolutely wonderful.
Great for small children, spent here a couple of hours and they love it. If come to Ome to spend some time, definetly pay a visit.
