I loved Sierra Tucson so much this year I went back for a 2nd time after a relapse. Everyone was so welcoming, professional, and non judgmental about my return. The therapy just continued where we left off. After each visit Twyla Brett Connect 365 of Sierra Tucson would reach out by email which I found very supportive and comforting. In addition Connect 365 advised where meetings of alumnae would be taking place as well as webinars to keep you connected to the best University of Addiction, therapists, traditions, teachers, and other alumnae. I wanted to live there yet insurance said no.

I went to Sierra Tucson in 2009. It was the best experience I have ever had. I loved the staff, the residents and the therapists. They all contributed to a deep change in me. I gained a lot of insight and was able to let go of 17 years of resentment and anger. The after care for the Alumni is great. We just had our Annual Alumni retreat and it was so awesome. It was so good to reconnect with others who had similar experiences and to get a boost in our recovery process.

Sierra Tucson is not what it once was. I believe that it once was a place for healing and recovery when it was family owned. Since being bought out, it has become a place that chews up and spits out its patients without a care in the world. The individual therapists and healers are great, but the administration and individualized care and planning is lacking.

I gained a lot from going to Sierra Tucson in the summer of 2019. What I appreciated most about going was the community support I experienced. The benefit of community support made me feel like I was never alone as people were empathic, rooting me on as I recovered from my emotional instability. Also helpful was the definitive amount of time I was given to improve, offering me a light at the end of the tunnel, something concrete to work towards. I don't expect to return, but if I ever needed to, I would feel right at home at Sierra Tucson.
