Wonderful bird life. Beautiful Unst. The walk from the car park to the cliff edge at a good pace takes 35-45mins. Turn left at the edge for a huge gannet colony, although you'll see interesting geology, wildlife and plant life whichever way you go.

Although it was raining and visibility wasn't great, this was still an amazing hike across the clifftops where loads of seabirds were roosting and flitting about. If you carry on all the way along the cliffs there's an official sign saying you're at the northernmost point of the UK. Unfortunately I couldn't see Muckle Flugga as the clouds had come in, but at least I was the most northerly person in the UK for a while!

Probably the most amazing place on the Shetland Isles for bird enthusiasts. It's a long (1,5 hour) walk to get to the bird cliffs, but it's very rewarding. You've got a good chance to see puffins even halfway through August, when they've left places further south already.

A long walk over some very rough ground but well worth it spectacular.

This is closed in 2019. We did not visit the center, but we made the walk to the cliffs and the lighthouse. Breathtaking.
