Definitely worth going across several days, our first visit it was packed with bus loads of tourist (granted I’m a tourist myself), it made moving hard. Other visits were more pleasant and I tend to think the castle in the background becomes more of an attraction then the horse!

The Pegasus fountain is situated in the Mirabell gardens. It makes an appearance in the Sound of Music and so attracts a lot of SOM pilgrims.
Beautiful space in a perfectly gracious city.

The garden is nice. Everyone comes to see the Pegasus fountain that is in the Sound of Music, but its only in the movie for a few seconds. Overall the whole place was worth walking through if your int town and it was free. I did not do any tours.
