I was recently in search of a violin that was a step up from the cheaper one I bought online when I first started learning. I worked with Phil Rush for quite a few weeks, trialing a number of different violins and then eventually purchasing one. Phil was so patient and accommodating the entire time. Even when I thought I was being an annoyance he remained so patient and it seemed important to him that I find a violin I would enjoy playing. I am so appreciative for all of the help he provided and how easy Carriage House makes the whole process. Thank you for all the help!

4.5 stars. Personnel are professional and very polite. Staff are definitely an asset. Prices for services and instruments are sometimes a little bit inflated vs. fair market value and competition. That is my only “issue” with an otherwise great company. CHV is solid in the entry and lower to middle value instrument market. Their selection of higher end instruments is more limited, but every now and then you may find a gem. They may have fine offerings that are not listed publicly.
