She is extremely knowledgeable and not only prepared me for my births, but helped me find the courage and strength to endure 3 pregnancies and births! We have had 2 fantastic home births with Tierney, and could not have asked for better experiences. We transferred into Tierney's care 26 weeks into my second pregnancy, following a move. I called to see if she was accepting clients at the time, and we ended up having an extensive conversation about why I wanted a homebirth and how my first pregnancy and birth (a natural hospital birth) went. We scheduled an in-person consultation, and there was no question in my mind that she was going to be our midwife. Appointments are relaxed, and very thorough, assessing not only mom and baby's physical stats and health, but also mom's mental and emotional well-being. Tierney goes above and beyond in making herself available for contact between appointments should her moms have any questions or concerns, and is very responsive. We had the best natural hospital birth we could have had with our oldest child, but that experience pales in comparison to our home births. I labored and birthed my babies completely free to do what I needed to do, when I needed to do it. Tierney provides a strong, but mostly silent support, allowing mom to really focus inward to listen to her body, choosing just the right times to verbally encourage and empower. The few hours that Tierney stayed to monitor me and my babies were very peaceful and serene, and will always be some of my very best memories. Tierney has truly been there for me through so much more than just my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum checks, because she recognizes that these are influenced by everything else going on in mom's life. Her wisdom, insight, and support have been invaluable to me, (and so many of her moms) and I will be forever grateful for that.

After having my first baby at Marshall Midwifery and Birth Center I can't imagine giving birth in a hospital. Tierney treats each expectant mom like they are her only client. She is flexible with appointments and gives you as much time as needed. She is very knowledgeable and extremely responsive to questions. The birthing center is very clean and comfortable. Tierney truly cares about both mom and baby. I hope to have the rest of my babies with Marshall Midwifery :)
