Good for kids
I've been walking here since it was a military training ground, a long time ago. As a kid, I used to call this \the Bullet Forest\ because of all the spent ammo lying around. Also, one might find an occasional flashbang or canteen - super great if you're eight years old. Now I take my kids here and the soldiers are gone - so has the ammo. Maybe I took it all home, I don' t know, but there's none to be found. If you check satellite pictures you can still see where the tanks used to drive and where log bunkers used to be, but if you come walking, you'll just see sheep. It's a nice, open heath - pine trees, grass, open land and sand. Lots of walking tracks but please, stay on them. The heather is fragile! Go here, it's very beautiful. But make sure you leave only your tracks in the sand and take your trash home.
