My mom lived with my husband and I for nearly 16 years before we found it necessary to move her to independent living. She stayed at Meadows Courtyard for 4 years until declining health and increasing dementia required a move to an assisted living facility. I regularly drove by the sign for Haven Corner and was relieved to see a \vacancy\ sign just when we needed to make the change. Fortunately, my sister was visiting from Montana so we were able to tour the houses, meet the owners Debbie and Craig, the staff and all of the residents. My other sisters made their own appointments and gave their stamp of approval. Then it was time to take mom for a visit. She got the grand tour, shown which room would be hers should she decide to make that her home, shared a meal and met the other residents. Despite her mild dementia, the final decision was her own. The staff was welcoming and eased mom's transition professionally and lovingly. For the nearly three years she lived at Haven Corner, she did not complain about her care - only a few aches and pains. People who choose to go into this profession get my deepest admiration. They not only treat their residents with love but also care about the resident's family. When they lose a resident, they also suffer the grief. I am ever so grateful to the staff at Haven Corner and Bristol Hospice for their care and love when mom passed from this earth into heaven.

My father was a resident at Haven Corner until his passing. I can’t express enough how hard the staff worked to make my dad comfortable and cared for. Debbie would make helpful suggestions on ways we could make things easier or more helpful for him. He enjoyed the outings and talks he would have with Debbie. Taking the time to listen and have a conversation meant a lot to him and his family. I felt complete trust and faith that my father was in a safe and caring home. He was treated with respect and compassion until his passing. I am grateful and it brings me comfort to have found a place like Haven Corner.

Haven Corner was an absolute blessing to my mom and our family. Mom lived 4 comfortable years at Haven Corner after no longer able to live in her home due to dementia. The smaller, family style home setting was perfect for her as larger more populated homes added to her confusion. Haven Corner has delightful outdoor spaces for the residents to enjoy as well as beautiful gardens. The rooms are quite spacious, allowing for personal pieces which was also comforting to mom. Debbie was always taking them on outings-to ice cream, to plays, to nurseries to choose flowers and rides through the country so they could admire the Fall colors. We were so grateful for this as mom loved to take her rides! We all felt part of the Haven Corner Family, Debbie and all of her staff are always at the ready with a loving hug. I must say, after loosing mom 10 months ago, I miss seeing the caregivers and know I can still walk in any time and be warmly welcomed. Our family feels incredibly blessed to have found such a perfect fit for our mom.

I am forever grateful. We brought my grandmother from Walla Walla, WA, to Haven Corner. She was struggling with a frontal lobe disorder that robbed her of being able to talk. This was the best decision we ever made with her care. She was valued from the moment she came. She was well cared for and it made a difference. We were welcomed and felt a part of the process. I credit Haven Corner for the positive memories I have of my grandmother during this time.

My mom, Evelyn, lived at Haven Corner for several years. During that time, she loved arranging flowers from the garden, doing arts and crafts, sitting on the patio and going on field trips with Debbie. Debbie and the Haven staff were always friendly and caring whenever I visited and mom loved the resident cat and Lucy the dog. It felt like home to her. My family was immediately informed of any health issues or difficulties that mom was experiencing. In her final days, staff worked with hospice to make mom as comfortable as possible. My family was encouraged to spend as much time as we wanted at Haven with mom as we bid her goodbye. Special thanks to Debbie and Craig, Laura, Christine, Cindy, Kathleen and all who cared for mom.
