I adopted a cat recently at EAS, and unfortunately, my home didn't turn out to be best suited for his needs. Due to COVID restrictions, I wasn't able to meet the cat prior to adopting him. After a couple days, I realized that the cat would be happiest in a different home, with more space and the opportunity to potentially roam outside occasionally. Additional time for him to settle in wasn't going to change that. I was beyond devastated to have to make this decision, but it was in the best interest of the cat. I don't think he'd previously been indoor only, and I live in a city building where he wouldn't have been able to go outside. I called the shelter, and was very sad that I needed to return the cat. They were extremely compassionate and understanding, agreeing that a different home was best for this little guy. I've never met a more snuggly and sweet cat in all of my life. I'm very sad that I wasn't able to keep him, but fully trust that the team at EAS will help him to find the right home, and when the time is right, help me to find a new kitty that is more suited for the small space I live in. Thank you, Tina, Lisa and Pam for your love for these animals and the great care you give them. I miss Safari dearly, but am excited for him to find the home / environment he needs. If you someone reading this becomes the new home for Safari, you have found the most incredible cat in the world \u003c3.

Piper was surrendered here because her owner could no longer take care of her after 10 great years I hope Piper’s previous owner sees this and learns that Piper is safe and happy and doing so well! She is so sweet and keeps us going every day. We call her Pocket because she’s so little ️ Thanks to Seattle Humane in Bellevue, Everett Animal Shelter and all the foster homes!!

The Everett Animal Shelter is operating by appointment only during COVID-19. The grounds were beautiful, and the staff person I met with was lovely. And of course the dog I went there to meet was just the best, most beautiful baby.
