We as a family cannot ever thank you enough for the amazing work you do. We rehomed the most amazing wonderful horse Phoenix from Free Rein over 2 years ago now and he is without a doubt the most perfect addition to our family. We couldn’t live without him and without you rescuing this him this majestic old gentleman would have been put to sleep. You are all exceptional people. Claire is the most unselfish generous lady who has given her heart and soul to helping these animals. Remember the rescue isn’t there to use and abuse and to help people ease their conscious they are there to rehabilitate and help these animals from suffering further. Phoenix is proof that what she and the other volunteers are doing is working well and helping these beautiful horses find their forever homes. Well done to you all. Nicky & Gary & Millee x

Horses all well cared for in a fantastic location. It's great that the rescue horses are re homed and can enjoy the rest of their lives after a bad start.

It's awful they neglect the horses. I found a horse drowning in an old pond and had to call the fire brigade to have it saved. The horse must have been there a long time. There was also a horse that looked very thin and ill that never was taken in or given any extra care.

If you love your horse, please please DO NOT SEND IT HERE. Like many sancturies Free Rein take in liveries to subsidize the escue\ horses. We took up a grass livery space in August when all appeared ok. However, our beautiful horse has suffered a shocking loss of condition through inadequate feeding, care and living in mud. So we have just had to rescue him from this so-called rescue charity. In just a few months our beautiful horse had been reduced and weakened so much he is now almost unrecognisable. The malnutrition is shocking. We discovered that there are no regular daily checks on the horses, and pasture management is non-existent. Winter hay is not always available, and when it is, it's of poor quality and lacks nutritional value. No horses should be expected to live like this under any circumstances. I cannot understand how anyone with even scant knowledge can allow their establishment to get this bad.
