Mr Chatman is a godsend to this community. He does so much that isn't publicized, and yet he remains steadfast and oh so humble. Always a kind word and a soft spoken phrase of encouragement. Now onto his food. Man Oh Man!! Chicken is always so freshly made and crisp, no extra grease like most other chicken places. Order up some sides and drink the koolaid, because no one else but, Chatman's is gonna get it to you. He has daily specials to keep the community fed at affordable prices. People come from all over, near and far, and out of town because of he and his employees treating you like family. So so cool. Check out my pics and take the drive, guaranteed you won't be disappointed. And if you are, I'll buy your next chicken meal. And if it's your 1st time here, take the chicken and don't add the spices to it. Save it for your return trip.

First time here and honestly very impressed with the chicken. Cooked perfectly and crisped perfectly. The seasoning is added after they cook the chicken. I gave it 4 stars because I think the batter itself could use a little more seasoning for flavor. But overall I enjoyed the meal. The fries were fresh and crispy as well. The mac was a bit watery and could use a little more flavor. I would say its texture is like lubys mac. The popper was huge and very well cooked. I'd definitely come back for more.

BEST CHICKEN IN SAN ANTONIO. I drive out from lackland just to get some tenders and THE BEST hot sauce!! Location is always packed w folks but we don't spend a lot of time waiting. The staff is attentive and efficient.EXCELLENT JOB
