unkind staff, not responsive to calls, will put down animals with ease and clearly do not care about their animals. Drop your pets at the humane society or anywhere else than here!

Did not contact after my cat got tooken and put her down a week after and then contact me after 2 weeks she got put down.

Dear New Hanover Animal Control, Thanks for not helping! And thanks for being a grumpy bunch of a**hats! Well, to be fair, not all of you, just you guys working at the front desk. I found this poor itty bitty kitty at 4 o’clock this morning and wanted to do the right thing and bring him (even though I got almost no sleep last night and was running late for work.) But, apparently, you guys couldn’t give a flying f***. My bad, I just thought people whose job it was to care about animal welfare would be understanding and appreciative. Silly me. But, I stopped by the PetSmart on New Center Drive and was delighted to be helped by people who seemed to like talking to other people. It was great! Sure I had to pay for the little guy’s treatment but I didn’t mind, I actually wanted to know how he was doing. I get the feeling if I had left him with one of you guys, you wouldn’t have given a rat’s backside about how I felt. So, thank you PetSmart for caring and putting a silver lining around my dark cloud of a day! In conclusion, the PetSmart staff is better than you ….and they’re prettier, too. - A tax-paying Hanover County resident (and in a few minutes my friends on Facebook.)
