Based in Melbourne, the label will be showcasing talent from Australia and across the world with the debut releases coming from homegrown Big Words and Arroyo. ‘Daily Nightly’ takes its name from the 1967 track with the same title by Michael Nesmith of The Monkees. The song offers a veiled commentary on the Sunset Strip curfew riots of the 60’s, an exhibition more relevant thanever with the lockout (curfew) laws now heavily affecting Australia’s music industry. The Monkees ‘Daily Nightly’ was also arguably the first widely known rock recording to feature a Moog Synthesizer, pushing the boundaries for its time. “We hope for our label to carry on this ethos, one that really excites listeners.
