My favorite square in Vienna. A monumental sculpture between two large and important museums.

My favourite square in Vienna! It’s just so grand and spacious. The two museums here are also just so stunning - I love to just lie on the grass and stare into space. If you come here in summer, you can also see the various flowers of different colours! Winter’s also beautiful here, as there’s a Christmas market! It’s just a great space for any time of the year!

this place is speaking for itself. The details of everything is just astonishing. In the winter season you’ll find a Christmas market which is indeed the perfect place for. Definitely a must visit for every foreigner.

Charming christmas markets in December. If you're visiting Europe for Christmas, definitely worth a visit. Great location, and great backdrop. good range of markets - strategically placed to not bore you or your companions.

Great place in the city center, lots of history and beauty in one place. On the square is the monument of Maria Theresa, which was discovered in 1888 by Empress Sisi. The monument is about 19 m high and weighs approximately 44 tonnes. During the reign of Maria Theresa from 1740 to 1780, she reformed the school system and took care of state affairs as well as her 16 children. The twin buildings, on either side of the impressive monument, house the Museum of Art History in Vienna and the Natural History Museum. It is worth seeing!

There was quite a large Christmas market going on when we were here in December, before Christmas. Lots of stalls selling tons of different foods. It wasn't super pack as we were able to manoeuvre a pram around. I managed to grab one of the special cups here. The drinks have an extra, refundable charge for the cups so I just kept the cup as a souvenir. They also had stands selling other interesting items like toys and decorations. It was quite nice but it did detract attention from the two amazing looking buildings on either side, the Kunsthistorisches Museum and the Museum of Natural History.
