Lava and tonic is awesome! Came here for the first time over the weekend with friends. Was able to get a seat right away despite usually needing reservations. Service was great atmosphere is cool and the place is super unique for Wichita. Feels like you’re in a hidden gem somewhere on the islands. Drinks are strong, a little bit expensive, but fun for a one off weekend every now and then. Make sure you check out this place at least once!

Lava & Tonic...OMG! This is EASILY the BEST BAR in Wichita! I LOVE it! From the second you walk in, you literally feel like you are NOT in Kansas anymore! You are transported far away! The atmosphere is PHENOMENAL! Make reservations! They have tables for two. They have cabana areas for groups. There are seats available at the bar. There is a lounge area. The drinks are STRONG as well as beautiful! I was buzzed of one drink & pretty toasty after 3. The Pina Colada in the frozen pineapple is my favorite! It is a must have. Also, the Teak 9 is another go to. I haven't braved the Zombie yet. The staff is wonderful! I now consider this bar one of the best kept secrets in Wichita. I will definitely be going back when I need an oasis of escape!
Amazing place with even more amazing drinks!! I took 3 visitors from France to Lava & Tonic and we all had absolute blast! From atmosphere to service and drinks, everything was great and had no complaints! My personal favorite cocktail is the painkiller. It is sooo good!! Wow. Enjoy your time in Lava & Tonic and make sure to reserve your spot ahead of time while pandemic is going on!! It’s super easy and that will make sure your spot is waiting for you all safe and sound ;) Cheers!
Love this place! It has an amazing atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re in Hawaii! Its so different from any other bar in Wichita. All of the waitstaff have been super friendly and are great for helping with drink suggestions.The painkiller is a MUST. I really can’t say enough great things about this place. If you haven’t been, go!
What a cool hidden gem! I really don’t want to leave a good review because then everyone will start going! lol! The drinks are so fun and each one is different. I love the head hunter! Chill and dim atmosphere and always great bartender!
This is a great spot to have an excellent cocktail! Once you enter it feels as if you’re in a tiki hut. I enjoy this place because it’s the to closest thing to island vibes you’ll find in Kansas. The staff has always been pleasant and quick to get drinks to our table. The ‘zombie’ drink is a great choice if your late to the party and want to catch-up with your friends. Heads up, if you want to enjoy this place you’ll probably need to schedule a reservation ahead of time.
Lava and Tonic has such a great atmosphere. First of it's kind in Wichita, it gives you all the tropical vibes while staying right in the heart of Kansas. The vibes are fun all the while being super chill and laid back. The seating is BY RESERVATION ONLY! Which seems like a new concept to the humans of Wichita judging by the previous reviews. This bar is on the smaller side and while the wait time to grab a drink is a little longer than most bars (they ain't slinging Miller Lite folks) they take great care in crafting tiki cocktails with all the flare of creative accoutrements. If you consider yourself cool (i would hope you would) and are looking for an elevated craft cocktail bar, look no further. Lava and Tonic - the boom is bionic (am I right?!)
Went here for a birthday. As soon as we got there our reservation was ready and we had prompt and polite service the whole time. The ambiance and vibe were perfect. So happy Wichita has this place. Will be back!
