Congratulations to Water Mill House for receiving 'GOLD standards Framework' for the high quality of end of life care!! This is a great achievement and everyone should be so proud! thank you to the nurses/carers/management for your extremely passionate and excellent end of life care and palliative care you provided for my brother-in-law. You really made his final days happy and peaceful and leaving the home in the evening knowing his was in safe and caring hands meant the world to my family. Thank you to Kitchen team who when above and beyond, with making excellent food ( even when the dietary needs were complexed), and for making us dinner when we wanted to stay for a little longer in the evenings, which delicious! What a brilliant bunch of people. We couldn't thank you enough!! keep doing what you are doing! You should be all be so proud! Once again, thank you.

Watermill house care home, provides exceptional care for all the residents who live there. Care staff are so helpful, and really listen to the needs of the resident, making sure they are happy and comfortable. It provides excellent activity’s on and off site with use of its own mini bus. Food is fresh and presented well. Kitchen staff are happy to cater for any diet needs the residents and family require.

I cannot believe that the manager and her husband/family member has put a 5 star review on here. Surely the reviews are for residents and family that have experienced the services and care on offer.

Please think twice about this place if you are looking for palliative care for a loved one. The management and unfortunately many of the nurses are void of any compassion or care. Often rude, careless, negligent and frankly should be removed from any end of life nursing environment... The food can only be described as terrible at best, left to go dry and cold most days. Even offering meat dishes to a vegetarian! I guess if you need supported living then this place could work, most carer’s are good and domestic staff were excellent as the home did seem clean. But for us we were needed palliative care and this was not provided. In the end our only option was to ensure that a family member was there 24/7 to ensure medication and nursing care was provided. What a terrible distressing experience for our family! The management should be ashamed!

My mother came into Water Mill House initially for respite on May 1st last year. She has now made it her home. She says that she feels safe, well cared for and says the staff have all treated her with nothing but kindness. I visit at different times of day and find my mother to be either participating in one of the many activities that are scheduled e.g. flower arranging, cooking or watching a film in the cinema, attending the book club or in the bistro. The Bistro is an asset as visitors can have tea, coffee and cake there whilst visiting their relative which gives it a lovely feel to the time spent together. I am very grateful for the care and attention that each member of staff has given my mother from the carers, events coordinators, housekeeping staff, the staff on reception, night staff ,bistro staff and salon staff. The food is lovely and my mother says she really enjoys the variety. The home made cakes and biscuits in the bistro are delicious. Everyone is friendly and always professional and caring and as a nurse with over 30 years experience in the NHS I am in a good position to comment on standards of care delivered. The facilities are excellent with a library, and hairdressers. It is a hard decision to make when a family member needs more support than you can give and I am very grateful that my mother is so well cared for by people who take the time to really get to know their residents.
