Friendly staff, nice location on the southern side of 124 street. The food was delicious and I must say that I was impressed with the presentation! I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is interested in trying something new.

Hole in the wall kind of place, with somewhat bland and strange decor. The food here is very good and has an authentic Ethiopian taste with the liberal use of berbere. The service was good and attentive as the owner both cooked the food and served it. Overall I would recommend this restaurant for a low key Ethiopian experience.

So delicately prepared ... had the Dine Out Menu and it was absolutely beyond words amazing. The staff introduced every course to us patiently. Could see the chef’s dedication to every dish they prepared and would definitely come back!

A very unique experience! Large portions and packed with a big range of flavours. Pleasantly surprised with how well the potatoes amongst the veggie platter were done. The beef tibs were tougher than expected but worth a try because the sauce was delicious, will have to try it with chicken/lamb next time. The shiro tegamino was rich and savoury, goes very well with the injera. Don't come here if you're in a rush, it'll take time for the food to be made.

Came here for lunch, and ordered the much-raved-about vegetarian platter. Been to many Ethiopian restaurants around the world, and this is probably the worst one yet. Food was clearly microwaved (we even heard the microwave beeping/opening/closing while we waited for our food), and was barely warm, not fresh and hot. The dishes were largely flavourless (beets, cabbage, and potatoes had little to zero seasoning... Tasted simply like they had cooked them without spices). Red lentil dish and spinach was OK, injera was OK, and overall I'd say our experience was a bit less than OK. Veg platter was 17 bucks... Per person. So 34 for a very underwhelming meal means we won't be back. We read other reviewers mention the veg platter was 17 for two people and a good deal, so also disappointed this was not the case. We got excited because of the positive reviews, but the re-heated food, bland flavour, and price were all disappointing.

Delicious food and coffee. Great staff and atmosphere. A lovely break from the typical Edmonton vibe and culture that I'm used to. Would recommend to everyone who desires a flavourful experience.

Food is incredible and super filling. The vegetarian platter serves AT LEAST two, so bring an appetite or a friend. Service is typically quiet and unobtrusive but also very friendly. Walia is always on my list when people ask for recommendations. :) Edit: Apparently ownership changed so not sure if this still applies but I'll leave it for now. :)

Food was good. That's the most important thing. I had the veg platter. And all the curries were good. Although the food took a long time to come out and the service wasn't great. We ordered a coffee that never came. And my tea took about 15 minutes to arrive.
