One of the favorite skating experiences was right here in the UI Skate Rink. The staff are always super helpful and the skating shoes are pretty good!

The place is fun for the family. It was an absolute ghost town went we took the kids. They have little walkers your kids can use to stay balanced. Perfect for my 5 year old. My 2 year old I had to bunch over and scoot along the ice. Will definitely be going back for some fun ice skating antics.
Please open soon. I need to play hockey to keep my sanity on the campus. I live right next door and the closed ice rink taunts me every single day. I know ice arenas are open in other parts of Illinois. For example, All Seasons, Rocket Ice arena... etc. I seriously miss playing and I will work there if it means being able to even step foot in there. Please, UI Ice Arena open soon.
Please update your webpage hours so I don't get my kiddos hopes up bc your webpage says your open only to arrive and finds out you're closed until further notice.
they were very understanding of my son having special needs and accommodated us and allowed us to do things so he could try and skate. We will be back next year for round 2!
We had a deluxe birthday party package. It was a blast! Everything was so easy and the staff were fantastic! Great value and great fun!
This is a neat older building to play hockey in. For the most part it is very accessible inside. Parking on u of I campus can be a hassle. Inside they have tried to update without losing the character of the old arena. It's a larger ice rink to so lots of ground for skaters to cover. The snack bar has s nice selection including hot foods. For an ice rink it's not terribly cold but if you get chilled easily and are a spectator bring a blanket. I look forward to coming back if our team gets the chance.
Fun enough, but don't put on website that there are accessibility sleds for public use if the person at the counter can only give it to you if you "aren't walking". Invisible disabilities and other health issues are a thing and it was upsetting to be told the sleds can only be used if you come in in a wheelchair... Had an issue getting one last time too and was only able to get one when my friend with cerebral palsy asked for one for me because she was in a wheelchair.
