Stunning views and lovely trail. Great for cycling, running and walking. Fantastic day out for the family for a few hours. Very easy to get to. Ample parking. Does get very busy with cyclists.

Very unexpected tunnel on the Tissington Trail. We walked down to one end and back and it was cool and drips water from the ceiling. It does have lights inside so it is ok to walk or cycle down. It has a tarmacked path down the centre of the tunnel that is wide enough for 4 people to walk side by side. Great acoustics as you would expect for a long tunnel.

Lovely walk summer or winter. 0-26 miles your choice and toilets along the route. Also Cafe's under normal times.

As tunnel enterances go it does everything it should. Big enough to get into the tunnel, and doesnt spew boiling acid at you. Win win.

Parked at tunnel entrance, national trust car park so you do pay, they have an overflow car park so lots of space. Cafe, toilets, bike hire available. We walked towards ilam. The trail was easy, well kept, beautiful dappled shade. Quite soon you can drop off the main path to a little beach by a stream, good for paddling and cooling hot dogs. There's lots of bikes so be careful with your dogs and/or kids. I'm sure during the week it would a very good quiet walk.
