Questionable business practices and a lack of integrity. As an employee I used a potentially negative situation (an injury early on) to show my flexibility, initiative, and dedication to the company. I did not miss a single day of work, took no costly treatment, and spent several weeks doing administrative work that anyone hired for the job would have been paid for at a much higher rate than I was receiving. When I was cleared to return to my original position, I modified the behavior that led to the injury. I got along with all my coworkers, always respected authority, and received positive feedback over all. Nevertheless, at the end of my probationary period, shortly after having signed up for medical benefits, I was abruptly and unceremoniously fired, for reasons that were not only vague but also contradicted both the reality of my performance and management's own earlier statements thereon. I have never been let go of before, but frankly, now that the initial period of shock and anger has passed, I'm beginning to think this one was for the best.
Had an interview and toured the plant.
