Irene is the best! I got my dress from Kleinfeld 3 weeks before my wedding and instead of paying their ridiculous price for alterations (not to mention the fact that I didn't trust them to do a good job or get it done on time) - I went with Irene who was HIGHLY recommended to me by a couple friends - one of whom had entrusted her with her wedding dress just a few months prior. The shop is busy and you may need to wait - but she honours every appointment and ensures that events closer in the future are prioritized - which is a plus for brides needing their alterations turned around quickly! At my first appointment, the second I stepped out of the dressing room in my gown - Irene went straight to work pinning everything delicately and letting me know exactly what she was doing to ensure I would have the best fit and be comfortable all day/night long. My dress had a lot of beading and I was pleased to see that nothing was damaged throughout the process.. The price was a fraction of what I'd pay to Kleinfeld and Irene took the utmost care in steaming my dress and making sure it was perfect for my big day at my last appointment. Thank-you so much Irene! I have sung your praises to everyone I know in need of wedding dress alterations.

I was a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding this past weekend. I only had a few alterations done on my dress. I picked it up on September 10 and the wedding was September 21. I didn’t have a chance to try it on, on the spot as I was very busy and didn’t end up trying it on until Monday before the wedding. I then realized that it was missing the eye hook, she sewed it too small so I couldn’t even zip it up and had to crash diet to just be able to fit into it. I had to see an eye hook onto the dress myself 2 days before the wedding. She also told me during my fitting that I could lose 10 pounds to make the dress look better. I’m very unimpressed and disappointed with her services.
Excellent! Absolutely Amazing seamstress! She transformed my bridal gown by adding custom bead work to the bodice. I now continue to go to Irene for other minor alterations as well! She is magical!
Irene's Studio is a wonderful experience for any bride. Irene is the one who walks you thru from beginning to end. She gives seasoned advice but allows the bride to decide. Each fitting has been low stress and walk away satisfied. She has a wall ,wallpapered in photos with thank you's for a job well done. Alteration prices are good. She knows you have a 'date' and she has a deadline.
Irene has expanded and is too busy now to give her customers with wedding dresses the same level of service she used to in the past. I chose her to work on my wedding dress even though her prices are a bit higher because I trusted her work from what I saw her do before, but that was a mistake. Her wait times are incredibly long (if you have an appointment expect to wait at least an hour or more), and she prioritizes hemming a pair of pants the same as a wedding dress fitting. It seems to just be a cash grab and to get as many customers as she can now. Multiple times she said my dress was ready to go, but in one instance it was too short, the next instance there was extra fabric bunching and hanging out of the dress, and finally I had to take it back to the store where I purchased it to get some help. Even they were surprised when I told them that it was Irene's work, and had said that other customers were starting to say that she is too busy these days. It's unfortunate because she is very skilled, just doesn't seem to have any time anymore.
Irene forgot about my dress. Went to pick it up after 6 weeks, and it was about a week before my wedding. She eventually did the work and I had to come back again mid-week when I was extremely busy. She did offer to do it on the spot when I first came in to pick it up and discovered it wasn’t done...but what am I paying for if it’s rushed service like that? It also wasn’t exactly what I wanted after describing at length and giving her multiple photos. She seems too busy.
Irene did a spectacular job on my wedding dress. Could not be more happy with the outcome or the service. She guided me through the process and booked several appointments to ensure everything fit well. Even with a tight timeline, she made it work and made me look amazing.
