My dentist is Rebecca Wignal and she is one of the best dentists if not the best dentist that I have ever had. I have been in a lot of dental surgeries and have been seen by a lot of dentists over the last 50 years. The sherbet fountains of my primary school years opened the tooth enamel to many mercury amalgam fillings, almost all replaced now. A good dental surgeon must not only be on top of the science but must also be a fine craftsperson. Rebecca consistently chooses the best materials for each restoration and spends much longer than the average NHS dentist getting the job done right. On top of that she is exceptionally gentle and considerate. This week she has finished my second root canal surgery. This was on a tooth I really did not want to lose as its neighbours would not support a bridge. Finding and thoroughly cleaning the three root canals took much longer than planned and I expect at least two patients had to be turned away, for which I sincerely apologise to them. To have cut short the operation to make room for the next appointments would have written off the tooth and being an NHS procedure there was every financial incentive to finish on time. That this did not happen tells you a lot about her integrity and determination to see the job through to the end. Stickability is what we Cornish call it! Pretty much everything else has always worked smoothly at the Apex Street practice and so I am surprised to read the negative comments.

I suffer from chronic back pain and arthritis in my wrists and fingers. When I missed a couple of appointments, due to being in alot of pain on the days I was due to see the dentist and I phoned the dentist on each day, in the morning, to let them know that I wasn't feeling very well. The next thing I know is that they send me a letter telling me that I am no longer welcome to that practice, due to my 2 cancelled appointments..!!! The dentist knew that I suffered from health issues and yet they still turned their back on me when I couldn't help it

Absolutely awful experience here of poor communication and a procedure being performed without obtaining valid consent. I have made an official complaint and it has been dealt with slowly and on eventually recieving a reply the response doesn't take account of the actual complaint I have made. the dentist has been dismissive and superior. I have not encountered another helping professional as disrespectful and frankly traumatic as this.

Just returned home following my 2nd root canal appointment. I have to say a massive thank you to Ivo and his team. I've had root canal treatment some years ago, which was a painful and traumatic experience, so I was dreading having this treatment again. I shouldn't have worried. Ivo and his team were truly excellent. Once I explained my concerns, I was treated with attention and care and the treatment was pain free. Thank you again, Ivo you are the best dentist I've had. Please don't leave!!!

They've always been absolutely excellent, and their timekeeping is amazing. I find them very very good. I'm just over 50 and female.

I have been with the same dentist for my whole life since I was about 4, and had to make a decision when I moved down to Somerset in recent years to change. When I first came to Apex, I wasn't fond of the dentists. They didn't seem to have good social skills and all of them gave me different advice regarding jaw pain so I felt a bit stuck and considered changing. However, when I started seeing Rebecca Wignall as my dentist that all changed. I feel like my previous experiences made me sceptical and so I was nervous about trusting her decisions at first, but she has helped me each step of the way with all of my issues including issues with my jaw. She managed to give me treatment which has rescued a very problematic tooth, and it really feels like she listens and gives her honest opinion. I highly recommend her, and the receptionists have always been more than helpful and getting an appointment is easy. I do miss my old dentist as he is a family friend, but I feel like I am in good hands and trust this place.
