Monsters of the Midway

I don't often park in downtown Chicago; however, when I do I make sure to park in a safe and reasonably priced garage. This review is based my attending a sporting event in late summer, 2019. After searching the web, I located a few differnt garages as options. After looking at what each offered, I elected to use the South Grant Park Garage. After making my decision, I easily purchased the ticket on-line. The cost was very reasonable making the experience even more favorable.

Went to park here this morning, which I have done on and off for decades. They have always had an early morning special but have varied the 'in' times through out the year, such as in by 6 a.m., then it went to 8, then 7:30, 7 and then 6:30 and out by 7 p.m. Prices have varied over the years from 16, to 23 then back down to 18. I'm cool with all those changes, until this morning. I drove into the garage, about to get my ticket and I notice theat there was no signage for the 'early bird' special, just stupidly high rates, as in if I had pulled in at 6 a.m., which is what time it was, and then left at 2:30 p.m. like I planed, it would have cost me approx. 50!!!!! That's ridiculous. There goes my every once in awhile luxury.

Today I thought I lost my wallet; to say I was panicked is not enough. I was late to a meeting, it was hot, I was sweating, I was upset and angry - it was simply one of those days. Although I was not happy and my personality showed it (I was being rude), SCOTT was great. He simply calmed me down, reviewed the tapes with me and showed me where I had my wallet. He even walked up to the 10th floor with me. I ended up finding it in my car; this was completely my fault. I SINCERELY appreciate all his help and his two colleagues - they were GREAT. I can't say thank you enough for helping me and calming me down in a very difficult situation for me. THANK YOU THANK YOU

This is a money grabbing parking area. They always change the time to enter and get the lowest price. The lady with the glasses working in the little office has an attitude everyday all day and needs customer service training. Or maybe they need to hire better personnel. She only treats those with a certain look with kindness. I will let all of my co-workers know to avoid this parking garage until effective changes are made. Any review you see with 5 stars is fake.

BUY PARKING ON LINE IF YOU PARK HERE! First Sunday, used on line code and was able to park for less than 15. Next Sunday, pulled ticket instead and was charged 54! That's a 40 difference--totally taking advantage of people not clued in to the trick. Complained, but garage refused to make any adjustment.
