We were staying at Benard's Landing and wanted to rent a boat. Called and spoke to Jason, the owner. He happened to have a rental from the previous day docked at Bernard's. We did a quick online/phone transaction and we were off for the day. Quick and painless.

We have rented from only a few places at SML. But 4 years ago we tried SMBR and we haven't went to another since. Jason and his company has been great, the rates are more than fair, the boats are well kept,great selection and their customer service is above and beyond. It's nice to drive 3 hours to get here and someone knows you by name. We will be back!!!
I called Jason a few weeks looking for a speed boat to rent. He was able to rent us one for two days. I called him on the day of the rental, and he actually brought the boat to our boat dock, and took us back to his facility to complete the paperwork. He gave us a tour of the lake and showed us places where we could and could not take the boat due to low water areas. We rented the boat on Tuesday and Wednesday, and he let us return the boat at 8:00 am on Thursday so that we could use the entire day on Wednesday. Once we returned the boat Thursday morning, Jason took us back to our dock and dropped us off. We will be contacting Jason for a boat rental the next time we return to SML. Jason and his staff were amazing to work with, and I highly recommend them.
This company mistakenly delivered 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards to our dock. One of the kayaks was in the water under our boat. We rescued the kayak and placed them all in a safe place. We checked with all of our neighbors to see if the kayaks and paddle boards were theirs. When No one responded, we secured the life jackets and oars hoping someone would claim them. They did at 10:00 pm!!! The owner, Jason was arrogant, and demanded we go to our dock and return the items. We are mid-sixties and asked if we could do it in the morning. He demanded we return them immediately because he had people waiting for them. We did take our golf cart to the dock and gave them the wrongly delivered equipment (which by the way was all put on our lily pad which was drying on the dock and scarred it up). I would never rent from such uncaring obnoxious people. We became responsible for correcting their mistake and had to endure ridicule from them while doing it. They didn’t offer anything for rescuing the kayak in the lake and keeping their equipment safe for them to claim except insults. Go somewhere else!!!!
The staff was great! Our boat got a little beat up in the storm the night before but overall everything was great!
