Wonderful experience when my mom passed. Rachel was excellent and gave us kindness and warmth. Highly recommend! My mom's best friend showed up late because of getting lost and they let her come in and say her last goodbye. Such kindness

The interaction I had with the director of this business was entirely unprofessional and uncalled for. His attitude clearly stated that he was in this business for one thing and that is scamming money out of grieving family members. It’s quite honestly disgusting how little care this place has for humanity and for what is best for the family. It should be illegal for this type of business to take place.
I did not use their services, but I when I called for information on planning a memorial from out of state they were extremely helpful. In the end we determined that I did not need their services. It was refreshing to not be pushed into buying services that I didn't need. Their suggestions were extremely helpful and if they were as kind to me, a non-client as they would be to a client, I think you'll be in good hands.
I am not sure if people read reviews before picking a funeral home for their loved ones but I hope they do. I can't express enough gratitude for how wonderful these people were during the loss of my father. Rachel and Andrew were warm caring people who never made me feel like my brothers or I had anything to worry about. Pam fielded what was probably a million phone calls from us, and was always kind and extremely helpful. They kept in contact with us, and offered so much help through this process. The services were beautifully and respectfully set up. No one wants to have to go through the loss of a parent, but picking Smith- Mc Cracken as the funeral home we used, was absolutely the best choice.
It's hard to get good reviews out of me but Smith McCracken did such a wonderful job with my Mom's funeral it was hard to not let their great customer service go unnoticed. In a very difficult industry like they're in, dealing with people's emotions is tough, but tying in the business sense to it is even harder. The genuine staff and leadership they had available did a wonderful job catering to the sudden emotional aspect of it all - you can tell that providing an experience that's comforting to the customer is their main priority at all times. I will recommend them to everybody in the Newton, NJ area who needs their great service. - Jared Ferreira
