Love walking my dogs round this area, it would be nice to see keppel's column restored back to its former glory so people could go up it again to see the views.

Architectural curiosity in Rotherham, a pity that it is in poor condition, without additional infrastructure, it looks as if it had been built in 1780 and left as it was, great potential possible

A lovely quiet place to have a romantic walk with the one you love or with family

Quite an impressive structure that needs some maintenance before it starts falling down. The area around the column is covered in dog mess, it's everywhere. Can't believe dog owners don't clean up after their pets. Grass is well overgrown, more local heritage that will eventually disappear. Sad.

It's a land mark but that's all. There's no possible interaction with it as it's sealed off with a steel door. The masonry is collapsing halfway up and the safety rail around the top almost gone, consequently it's totally closed off with no public access. Meanwhile another Wentworth folly nearby is open for business and people can pay to climb it and take in the views from the top. Kepples column could be doing the same but on a greater scale but just sits here year after year in disrepair. Surely some lottery funding could be spent on this to give it back to the people of Rotherham to access and enjoy.
