I love the historically valuable assets that the City of Red Deer was smart enough to take advantage of, while they still had the Chance. This also is(in my books) the BEST City of its size to take advantage of the Bicycle owners of the city, by gifting them these AMAZING trails that Stretch to Every Corner of Red Deer. WELL DONE GUYS!!

I really like walking over this bridge in Red Deer. It is a great way to enjoy the walking trails that Red Deer has and enjoy a bit of history as well. I know many people who also use this bridge as an amazing backdrop for photos. We have lived in Red Deer for a few years and we finally went on our anniversary as part of our evening together. It was really great to be able to slowly walk over the bridge and just take in the scenery and the rushing water. There were Canadian geese and several baby goslings that were swimming along the edge to add to the experience. There are a few plaques that give you the history of the bridge and I enjoy having this knowledge to glee from to appreciate it even more. I find that having a bridge that you can walk over without the worry of vehicles a great opportunity for the city as many people can partake in such a great activity as an individual or with family or friends. If you need an idea to get out of the house to enjoy the fresh area, take in great riverside scenery, and have trails that connect all throughout Red Deer, including to Bower Ponds, this is a great place to start your adventure. There is parking close by on either side of the bridge which makes it easily accessible and is wheelchair accessible also.
Been here 40 years and it's still there and I remember when the trains used to run through there now it's lawyers and stuff there that moved into the depot where it was Homebase I guess anyways happy bday hurricane Harvey Mercer
