This was the first time I've ever been to Recife Antigo and I absolutely loved it! Old buildings and history so preserved: amazing to take pictures. People from Recife are very polite and respectful it makes the experience even better. You can also find a good (and cheap) bite nearby if you're hungry. There is also a nice view from the square. You can walk a lot and there is always something new to see and to do.

The best place in Recife for pictures. This is the very heart of old Recife. Go with a local guide to enjoy the best of the city. Stay aware to pickpockets. During carnival, this is the best place to go at night.
The history of old Recife is well maintained around this area. There is an arts and crafts center in the square, and you can take a little boat to visit the sculpture garden over the reef nearby.
