Well worth a visit if you are passing the area. All closed down and demolished now but you can still see where the old hoverport used to be. Used mainly for kite surfing and dog walker's now. Little bit of sand, mud flats and marshes towards sandwich. You can walk to Ramsgate when the tide is out

Now a nature reserve this is the site where the Hoverlloyd service to Calais ran from until 1982. Although all buildings were demolished in the 1990s if you're a Transport fan this is well worth a visit to see what's left of this piece of Kent's history. For safety reasons I would recommend you don't go alone or after dark and take care when walking around.
