One of the difficulties with gardening in sandy soil is the constant need to water. I bought 3 barrels [pre-ivy] from Rainwater Solutions 12 years ago and have had no issues, so when I added more gutters to my house this past fall, I used the same company and bought 9 of their Ivy barrels. I am very pleased with the design and function of the Ivy. They were full of water when the Raleigh area got the big freeze for weeks on end this winter and froze solid. I was kicking myself for not emptying them, thinking they would split at the seams, but not so, as you can see from the pics, they survived the freeze beautifully. You will be amazed at the amount of water that comes off your roof! I have several applications of double barrels, and think I will add a 3rd barrel in some places this spring. I like the look of the Ivy, and don't think it takes away from the character of my home either, and since I can not physically lug a long hose from the well - this is the perfect solution for me.

I bought my rain barrels a few years ago through the city. I wanted to save water for my garden, and it was a great purchase! I never realized how much water was coming off my roof. Now my plants are happy and my wallet is happy. I recommend the Ivy Rain Barrel!
In drought-stricken Southern California, conserving water is a major concern for homeowners. Every drop counts. I have installed Rain Water Solutions' rain barrels at every downspout, and it has made an enormous impact on the amount of additional water I am able to capture for landscaping. The barrels are sturdy, reliable, and come with everything you need. This is an A company, I can't imagine living without their rain barrels from now on.
