Pet Shanty is one of the cleanest pet stores I have been in. The staff is professional and experienced. They are also friendly and will take time to help you with any questions and concerns. They have a large selection of fish and the tanks are kept immaculate.

I use to really love this place. The fish have always cost a little more than you would find at chain stores such as PetSmart or Petco, but they use to be better quality and worth the extra buck or two. However, the quality of the fish, along with the personality of the owner, seemed to go down hill recently. It's no longer worth the trip for me & I will not be returning to this store.

I have been to all the pet shops in the Northern and Central New Jersey area. Pet Shanty is by far the best. Best quality fresh and salt water fish, African Cichlids, Apisto's etc.
