Don't even bother.next to zero communication skills have to do all the running around and don't know why I even payed them. if you can't keep up with the work Don't take it on. If you consider using this company good luck with settlements being ontime. Never again. And this was for a simple house settlement.if I could give a zero star I would.

I cannot speak more highly of our experience with Michael Hodgkins at Flat Rate Settlements. Our situation was very last-minute and kept changing. Michael was very patient and flexible. That enabled us to get the specific legal advice we needed to make a confident decision on signing a contract for an off-plan apartment, while racing a deadline to qualify for a government grant. I highly recommend Flat Rate Settlements to anyone.

I've debated writing this review, but feel that prospective clients should know what service they may receive and can make an informed decision. Mine was less than optimal. I went with Flat Rate as they seemed competitive in their pricing - in hindsight, perhaps I should've gone with the more expensive option or at least the middle quote. Communication was (and is) dismal. I had cause to call my agent a few times; could never get through so resorted to e-mailing. Eventually got replies to the e-mails prior to settlement. At some stage, I received paperwork that indicated the settlement date would be on a different date than what my broker had informed me. Not a huge deal, but when added in with the poor communication, it did raise some flags. The settlement did go fine in the end. Post-settlement, I received an e-mail from the agent congratulating me and informing me I would be sent a final settlement statement "shortly". That was April 30th 2020. I have yet to receive this statement. In September or October 2020, I received a deposit in my bank account from Flat Rate. It was not accompanied by any communication from my agent or anyone else from the business explaining what it was. After giving them a few days, I called them (actually managed to get through). During this conversation, I was again informed that my agent was in the process of sending me the final settlement statement and would be sent through in the coming days. I'm still waiting.

They added up what I owed them incorrectly. I'm talking more than 20k in excess. This caused alot of distress for me. I had to get a calculator and add it up for them. Pathetic.

I used Flat Rate Settlements for a property conveyance. I was pretty unhappy with their services generally, and with Laura the person who did my conveyance. I will not be using them again or recommending them.
