Really interesting little museum about seafaring, in particular the Lifeboat Service, in and around this area of the coast. There’s an actual retired lifeboat inside that you can get up close to and have a look at which was impressive. Entry price was reasonable and it’s a good way to pass an hour if the weather outside isn’t great. Really nice, talkative lady on reception and a small gift shop. The cafe looked very popular but we didn’t get anything to eat or drink.

Small local museum with lots of interesting exhibits. Ideal for a wet day - however it would be hard to spend more than an hour there. The site also contains a large cafe & small art gallery. Right on the beach front with great views.

Quaint little museum and cafe. The museum is a nice but brief history of Newbiggin and it's link to the sea. The exhibitions are interesting and a nice half hour distraction. The cafe is really nice with a good selection of drinks and snacks, but the best bit is the view over the bay.

Visited Newbiggin-by-the-sea and explored the local area. Lots of little cafes, chip shops and of course the beach. You can hire a sandy buggy from the Maritime Centre if required for better accessibility.

Interesting and well presented, this is worth an hour or so of your time. Fascinating insight into local history with some really good photos and local items that bring the stories to life. It blends the contemporary with the historic story of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea.
