Nelson is a fantastic teacher and true artistic spirit. He is thoughtful and considered in his teaching approach, going above and beyond to help each member of his classes. His knowledge of art history is massive and you'll hear insights on subjects you knew nothing about, always aiding in your art journey. What I find particularly impressive is his ability to adapt to the varying skill levels of his students, speaking in fundamental terms that newbies can understand and without skipping a beat tune in to more advanced students. These discussions are useful to listen to whatever your skill level is. Nelson is an approachable, encouraging and highly skilled artist himself, you'll feel you're working under a classical teacher pulled out of art history!
