This place is under new ownership now since 2019. It has been totally remodeled & upgraded but they still have the option for budget rooms also. The little bar & restaurant there is great & the bartender & service are excellent. They also now have daily AM & PM yoga classes on the roof of the restaurant with sweeping views of Sunrise beach and the sea.

This is the fifth time we've been here. All very well. Excellent beach. Great host Roberto. Beautiful place on the island. The hotel has a lot of greenery and flowers. I recommend!
Even the internet was pretty bad, but the room, the price and privacy level here is fantastic. Very quiet and supper nice view. Our cottage is just right in front of the beach!!!! For sure next stay if we come to Lipe will be here.
Gipsy is a good option on Koh Lipe. It's right on beautiful Sunset beach, and is in a nice central location with easy access to all the amenities in and around walking street. These are not the nicest bungalows on the island (though they are clean and well maintained) and the prices reflect that. If you're looking for an affordable option that will put you seconds from the beach, then Gipsy is the place for you. One thing to note is that the Sea La Vie bar is right next door, and if they have a live band or a full/half Moon party, you will be hearing that in your bungalow until after midnight. Wasn't a huge deal for me, but it might bother some.

Great resort with a nice tranquil atmosphere. Great food and lazy days on the beach.
We stayed in the non-AC huts. The fan was good enough for the night as it does get pretty chilly (you can open the windows as there are window grills for security). There is only cold shower in our room, but you wouldn't need a hot shower as it is already very hot outside. Room and bathroom are very clean, and towels are provided. Love that the room is rather spacious, with a drying rack inside, and 2 clothes line outside, 2 reclining chairs and a hammock to laze around. However, there are a lot of mosquitoes outside so we didn't spend much time on our porch. Gipsy is located right on Sunrise Beach, and we woke up early on most days for the sunrise, as it is just right outside the resort. Walking Street is about 5 minutes away. There is a convenient store and pharmacy right outside Gipsy as well. The only down side was that we had to drag our luggage over like 50m of sand to get from the gate to our hut (it also depends on which hut you are staying at...)
