This museum is ok if you want to look at items on display but Devonport Maritime Museum is better, but please don't try and engage their service or assistance when completing maritime history as they either don't answer their phone nor emails.

Located near Elizabeth St pier and across from Lark distillery, it's a small museum with many models and wonderful maritime pieces. As it's a small museum, it took less then an hour to complete. It covers Maritime disasters, to the history of Maritime, and more recent events. The museum is informative, and staff are nice. There is a gift shop at the end of the museum

Another great experience from down under. Liked the historical exhibited timeline of the evolution of the Tasmania. The models of ship showed remarkable detail. Being an old yacht racer, I always wanted to race the Sydney to Hobart race. One of the worlds classic yacht and dangerous races. They give a great history of this iconic race over the years. A plus was a wonderful scrimshaw exhibit. Toilet gets a C the soap dispenser wasn't working.

While this museum is rather small, it’s fantastic. Very informative and gives a great lesson on Tasmania’s maritime history. It’s well laid out with the displays in a chronological order so it’s easy to follow along. Children from about 10 and up would enjoy this museum, and most adults would too. I’m not particularly interested in maritime and boat related things but I enjoyed myself regardless.

A lot of knowledge learned. Different boats from different ages. Museum is always a good place to teach the kids. Adults 10 for entry , student 5.
