In the three cities you will find the Malta at War museum which focus on the WW2 and Malta. It is a small traditional museum with artefacts from the last world war, and you will get access to the caves that were used for shelter during the War. It is much smaller than the others and I would suggest you will get better value from visiting the forts than this, however if you are into Malta's war history then there are some interesting exhibits but even so you will struggle to spend more than 45 minutes here.

Informative displays of the Maltese struggle during the war. Especially enjoyed the information on the underground air raid shelter. Museum includes a walk down one of the original air raid shelters that provided protection for 500 civilians. It is a maze of rooms and tunnels.

Great experience, being able to see and hear some of the experiences endured by locals and Allied forces during World War 2 was well worth the visit. Especially liked the walk through the myriad of tunnels and wearing the safety helmet is a must as some access doorways are on the low side. The displays and information boards throughout are very well presented.

Wonderful museum depicting the preludes to WWI and WWII, what life was like for Malta's residents throughout varying points of occupation, and a sobering walk through the tunnels where many lived during the air raids.
