Hands down, the best facility in Calgary. The owners are top quality people, the facility accommodates everything you need including many hoops, space, dr dish machines, and an athletic sports section to train. They offer top quality sessions for kids to high level athletes and many more. If you haven't been here, you have to experience everything it offers.

I have nothing but great things to say about this facility. From the amazing staff to the unreal training. The moment you walk into the facility the bright colours enhance your mood and motivate you to crush your goals on the court. My son has been training at Makin for a year now and has upped his game ten fold. I highly recommend Makin hoops if you are looking to to take your game to that next level or want to just shoot around.

I wish there was an option to choose more than 5 stars! What an amazing facility, the space and the equipment alone...it's hard to describe, you've got to see it for yourself! Attending camp last week, my 8 year-old daughter was extremely shy going in and surrounded by boys, she was asking about not coming back to camp the next day. I spoke with Coach Kieron, who talked to the other coaches and some of the other girls and before I knew it, my daughter was interacting, involved and enjoying being there. In fact very soon she was suggesting that she didn't need me to be there, she felt so comfortable. She absolutely loved the 5-day camp experience and I know it's because she felt included, welcomed and paid attention to (even though she had almost no skills to begin with and struggled with that the entire week - she gained confidence quickly with the help of the coaches). The coaches are amazing (I loved watching them play!) - they are good with kids, love to laugh and have fun and are VERY good at teaching the kids...lots of patience - and they actually watch each child and pay attention to all of them, each on their own level. That was a challenge this week, with 78 kids - but the kid-to-coach ratio worked out just fine...because the coaches obviously care, and work so hard to make sure each child is looked after. I was impressed from the start with the approach to learning basketball - it's not all about shooting hoops! The coaches are teaching life skills along with health and wellness, which is not something I expected but certainly appreciated. My daughter made new friends, learned a ton of new skills and overall had a fantastic experience. I honestly can't say enough, would absolutely recommend Makin Hoops to anyone who cares about their child's progress in skills and happiness while learning.
Unbelievable. This facility is incredible with helpful and friendly staff. The washroom/changerooms are clean and spacious. They have a workout area with free weights, bikes, kettlebells and everything you need to get in a great workout.
I originally called a week or so ago to ask about the services Making hoops provided, but the girl who answered the phone seemed distraught, aloof and as though she was extremely unhappy that I called. Having been very interested in the facility’s services, I called again a couple days ago and the same girl answered, with the same sarcastic & rude tone. I have since given up & registered my children with Genesis.. very poor customer service.
Awesome facility! Thanks to Coach Dave for the great work with our son. Nice to see this level of coaching in Calgary!
