I have been going to this Veterinary practice with my dog for several months. Karen and her staff are always quick to help assist with any short notice injury or appointments. This team talks us through each procedure and educated me on our options before proceeding. I will continue to be recommending friends to this Vet Practice for years to come!

Karen was able to take us last minute on Friday afternoon when my dog had a scratch in her eye. Karen and her staff were wonderful and took great care of my dog with clear communication, fair pricing, and they were very sweet to my dog and me. Thank you all!
I’m very disappointed to have to leave this review after such a spectrum of experience with Mad River Vet & Boarding. While visiting the area, we used their services to board our dog while skiing on a Saturday and Sunday at Sugarbush. Saturday was a great experience – our dog was walked and care for wonderfully. However, on Sunday we coordinated a morning drop off and when we returned 5 hours later, found our dog had not been check-in on, had his pen area tightened because a gate came loose, and had been sitting in his poop during the visit because he wasn’t taken for a walk. Evidently the Boarding team only visits the pets at 8:30am and 4:30pm on Sundays. The team at Mad River Vet & Boarding was responsive the next day when we called to find out what happened but hearing a “we told you this on the phone”… nothing in writing or on the website was very disheartening and gaslighting. Advertising “first rate care” and only visiting animals twice with an 8 hour span in between doesn’t match. It’s also worth noting that there was no “boarding” number to call, so we left a message confirming drop off with the main line, which appears to be ignored on Sundays. For this group to say that “your pets’ health and well-being are very important to [their] whole team and [they] take every possible measure to give your animals the care they deserve”, I hope serious consideration goes into how weekend boarding is treated moving forward.
Because of COVID and not being able to go in with Jack, they sent me a photo assuring me he was nice and calm. The best!
I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Karen Anderson at Mad River Veterinary Service. We recently moved to this area and were in need of a Vet to help us with the care of our 2 Yorkies. Not only has Dr. Anderson been a great Vet taking care of routine health problems and keeping us up to date on shots and meds needed but she is compassionate and caring in determining the best method for treating injuries and illnesses. She personally calls to check on our dogs after treatment and has gone above and beyond in helping secure the specialist surgeon needed for one of our Yorkies when she needed hip surgery and also broke her leg a 2nd time. Our Yorkie would never have gotten this kind of special treatment and care from one of the bigger Veterinary Clinics. She will refer us to another Vet within her large network of associates if she thinks they can do a better job than her and then of course always follows up to see how we are all doing. If you are in need of a good caring Vet I highly recommend Dr. Karen Anderson!
