We used Martin Day Electricians Limited to do a full electrical rewire on our house, including smoke alarms and security system. We were so impressed. The work was completed in the stated time frame, no hidden costs and the house was left really clean and tidy. It was great to hear that we could have sockets anywhere we wanted after other electricians who quoted for the job were negative in what could be done. After the work was completed mon-fri a full debrief was done with us on a Sunday evening to fit in with our work shifts where we were run through the new electric box, provided with paperwork and checked we were 100% satisfied. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and a really competitive cost. Wouldn't hesitate to recommended to others.

Martin and James installed a new consumer unit in our property along with some replacement sockets. They arrived promptly at the time arranged and carried out the work in good time before testing and leaving everything neat and tidy. Very happy to recommend.

I got quoted over 340 to change a two circuit dimmer switch with a caveat that the job might rise to over 600 (it was a touch sensitive dimmer switch). Needless to say I queried the quote on the grounds of cost and he said he could install a much simpler, 2 button dimmer switch for 140 which would do the trick so I was happy to accept. When he came round to install the switch - completely unannounced with no heads up whatsoever - he only managed to get one of the light circuits working (with the other one permanently on or off which wasn't an improvement on the situation). According to him this was 'what we agreed' and I would need to pay him for his time and materials and arrange another visit for him or some other sparky to finish the job. When I pointed out this was only half a job and that my understanding of 'what we agreed' was him installing a dimmer to work both circuits he became completely unreasonable and basically told me to stick it. He reinstalled the broken switch, made a complete mess of the wall bracket in doing so and stormed off. I have never encountered a more unreasonable, unprofessional tradesman in all my life. Avoid. Post script to MDE comment: Please be honest if nothing more. I was not expecting anything for free and you know it. My annoyance is that you were asking to be paid over 130 for a half baked job which didn't improve my situation one iota. This was equally galling given you had visited the house prevoiusly and had full knowledge of the switch in question (you dismantled it and your apprentice even took photos!!?). Your idea of a fix was a joke as any reasonable person would acknowledge. When I queried this, you became hostile and childish. I am leaving this review not to complain but simply to try and inform other people.

I have used these guys before, so when I needed a 3 way light switch moving, I decided to use them again. They booked me in and they stuck to that appointment. They did the work quickly with no mess or fuss. I would definitely use these guys again as I am a happy customer.

Martin and his team were lovely to deal with and did a fantastic job on the electrics. They carried out an electrical safety test, made the required improvements and also installed smart lighting in my home. They were always on time and happy to answer any questions. They even carried out additional work that I asked about on the same day. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough!
