Well worth a visit. Well maintained and a beautiful place to go for a walk. Built by tge same order that built churches and abbey's in Ireland.

visit by night and you will fully capture the magic of this monument. I arrived late and exhausted from a long day riding my bicycle and I enjoyed a unique experience, absolutely unforgettable.
Just what you'd expect from a religious ruin. Bleak grey stone, soaring, wind swept and evocative of its past.
In the evening sun, this is the best photoshoot place on Île de Ré. Just the walls with Windows and a blue sky behind it and everybody will look as a photomodel.
