Malay Military Mosque. Commonly known as Line mosque or Kandy Markaz.This was built by Malay soldiers of Sri lanka. One of a calm and convenient place to pray. Specially the Quran recited by the Imam is very peaceful and beautiful.

Kandy line Mosque (Malay Military Mosque) The British rulers in 1820 granted a large piece of land in a place called Japilawatte. The Malays serving the British army were garrisoned in Kandy. Being Muslims they have to offer prayers five times a day. The Malay regiment was granted a large plot of land by the British to construct a mosque as a place of worship.
